L1 is the months, so 12 represents February of 2004 and 74 represents February of 2010. L2 is the number of users in the millions, so 1 means 1,000,000 users.
x is the number of months and y is the number of people in the millions.
This month is month 76 and there are 591 million users. In 6 months, which is 82 months, there will be 1.035 million users. To do this, you plug in 82 for x and get 1,035. In 14 years, everyone in the world will have a facebook. There are 6.814 billion people in the world so you plug that in for y and get x.
